Dear Friends:
Wow! Things are pretty exciting around the EEN these days!
Our show "ElvisŪ Meets the Beatles" was a huge success! It was the biggest
show we have ever had - people were jammed into the corners of the Sabre
Room and we had to add 16 tables at the last minute! American English is a
great group and Travis,
Irv and
William joined them at the
end of the show for "Hey Jude." Since this show was a fundraiser for the
Animal Welfare League, we were particularly pleased.
We just returned from Deadwood, South Dakota. What a fun venue it is! The
entire town is thrilled to have the Elvi there and turn out by the
hundreds to see them. For those who are not familiar with Deadwood, it is
a wonderful town located in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It is the
town where Wild Bill Hickok was killed playing poker and also the last
home of Calamity Jane. The entire town has been preserved to show the year
1876. There are casinos all over town. The sky is SO blue there - it
almost hurts your eyes. Of course, Mount Rushmore is only a short drive.
The contest was exciting and the town loved the fact that we brought the
Exspence Account this year.
William Stiles was 1st and Johnny
Loos was 2nd with Bill Schott taking 3rd.
Hope everyone is enjoying the Spring weather. My grass is growing too fast
and I'm back on the tractor with my 2 big dogs trailing me along like a
parade. We are, of course, getting the yard ready for our 4th of July
picnic. We hope to see lots of you here!
Happy birthday to all our May celebrants -
Curtis Cowan,
Martin Anthony,
Paul Halverstadt,
Mark Leen and
Ralph Elizondo! Many happy
returns, guys!
Two months 'til the Convention!
