Seasons Greetings to all!
Winter has definitely arrived! Marie White came up to spend time with me
and go to Marquette and our Christmas show. As she is from Florida, I
promised her that it would NOT snow while she was here. Of course,
Mother Nature heard me and with an evil giggle, she dumped 3" of snow on
us the day before Thanksgiving. Poor Marie....
Dwight Icenhower's Blue Hawaiian Weekend was a huge success! The entire
weekend was held in Marietta, Ohio, on the banks of the Ohio River -
right across from West Virginia. What a beautiful area! It was a long
drive down (Ronny complained non-stop for 6 hours), but - it was sure
worth it!
Dwight and special guests Matt King, Chris Solano, and Chris Wilson kept
the place hopping and the audience enjoyed meeting and talking with DJ
Fontana and Cynthia Pepper. The contest was exciting and the final
results were: 1st - John Loos, 2nd - Kavan, and 3rd - Aaron Moriarity.
The jam session was fantastic! All the contestants, special guests plus
DJ and Cynthia took to the stage and thrilled the audience with their
music. They sang not only ElvisŪ music, but also Elton John, Johnny Cash
and many others. Chris Wilson collected several dollars from the pleased
ladies who rewarded him for his great rendition of "Achy Breaky Heart."
The weekend before Thanksgiving, we traveled up to Marquette, Iowa, for
the Tribute to the King Competition. We stayed, as usual at the quaint
Brisbois Motel in Prairie du Chien and crossed the Mississippi each day
to the Isle of Capri Casino. The staff at the Casino are the nicest
people! All six shows were sold out and the Change of Habit Showband
rocked the house. Winners were: 1st - John Loos, 2nd - Jimmy King Kai,
and 3rd - Chris Wilson. Johnny Loos will go on to the $50,000 finals in
Bossier City, LA, along with Irv Cass and Brandon Bennett. We wish our
EEN members much luck.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving brought our annual Christmas show. What
a show it was! Dwight Icenhower, Jerome Marion, Chris Wilson, Johnny
Loos, and Irv Cass each did 2 sets including 2 Christmas songs in each
set. They were wonderful! The crowd cheered and yelled and stomped their
feet. The Change of Habit wore their Santa hats like good sports and
made beautiful music. As usual, we closed the show with all the ETA's
plus Ronny Craig passing out gifts from the EEN to the members of the
audience - the EEN's way of wishing the fans a Merry Christmas.
All of the guys stayed in Chicago a few extra days. Sara (aka Stage
Babe) was the tour director as they visited Chicago. They got to see the
official Christmas tree, walked the Miracle Mile and enjoyed our
fabulous city.
2005 is right around the corner and promises to be our most exciting
year ever! We start the year with our birthday celebration at Hangge
Upps in Chicago and then the Chicago Bulls the following weekend. A few
weeks later, we leave for our cruise to Jamaica and Grand Cayman. This
year, Robert Washington, Dwight Icenhower, Irv Cass, and Quentin Flagg
will join us. If you are interested in cruising with us, check out the
website - The Third Annual ElvisŪ FANtasy Fest CRUISE! The ElvisŪ FANtasy
Fest
Happy Birthday to November and December-born members: Kraig Parker,
Bobby J, Ed Parzygnat, Irv Cass, Mike Massa, Doug Church, and Mark
Woodward. Many happy returns!
From all of us in the EEN to all of you
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
