Dear Friends:
The weather is cooling off - but - the shows are red hot!
The first week in August found us at Harrah's East Chicago for an ElvisŪ
weekend. The Tony Bernard Showband did a great job of providing background
for headliner Irv Cass along with
Curt Lechner,
Dennis Stella, and Ed
Parzygnat!
After the Saturday night show, Irv,
Ronny and I took off for Memphis. What a joy to see old friends and
meet new ones! The week was over too fast and we congratulate
Robert Washington on his
long overdue win! Second place went to
David Lee who wowed the crowd with his fantastic look and great
performance. Third was William
Stiles who thrilled his legions of fans.
The following week was a fantastic local party here thrown by a doctor who
loves ElvisŪ. Her yard rocked with the voices of
Doug Church, Irv Cass,
Jerome Marion,
Quentin Flagg, and Ed
Parzygnat. My only regret of the entire party was that Annette, Ed's
beautiful wife, had a sore throat and they couldn't perform "The Lady
Loves Me!" Next time....
The first weekend in September found us traveling to picturesque LaCrosse,
WI, for Ronny's ElvisŪ Explosion.
It was a glorious weekend - perfect weather, a great contest, Mississippi
River cruise, rockin' karaoke after hours. Winners were - 1st - Irv Cass,
2nd - Paul Halverstadt, 3rd
- Curt Lechner, 4th - Matt King.
GaryWesley was a special guest - we not only enjoyed his wonderful
performance - but loved getting to know him and his sweet wife, Elaine.
There is nothing like 3:00 AM conversations in the Country Kitchen
Restaurant! As usual, the Exspence Account rocked the house and the crowds
were huge. All the better for the Childrens' Miracle Network. Much thanks
also to Stacy Vowel for her 1st time being scarf girl - she decorated the
stage beautifully!
John Loos, his wife Cindy, and
their precious baby, Dakota, are staying with me for a few days. They have
been "on the road" since Dakota was 2 weeks old and are eager to get home.
We have had a ball!
Next week, Ronny, Doug, Jerome and I leave for Dewey Beach, Delaware. The
promoter was nice enough to bring us in a day early to do some sightseeing
and we are looking forward to it. For any of you that have not been to
Dewey Beach, it's a GREAT contest and the fans are fantastic!
The last weekend in September will find us in Lincoln, Nebraska for the
Husker Auto Group contest. First prize in this competition is a 1965 pink
Cadillac Coupe de Ville!! Wow! Wow!
We have just set our annual "Christmas with the King." As usual, it will
be the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 29th, at the fabulous Sabre
Room in Hickory Hills, IL. This year's stars will be
Jesse Aron, Matt King, Quentin
Flagg, Jerome Marion, and Doug Church. Come and help us kick off the
holiday season with these great entertainers!
Many Happy Returns to September birthday boys - Jesse Aron and
Raymond Michael!
